Who can hear their silent cries?
Who can see their pleading eyes?
As they stand, frozen and defenseless,
We're too absorbed with our pathetic existence.
How many more must be taken from their homes?
Being forced to do things with tired and broken bones?
Before someone comes and takes a stand,
Grabbing hold of their precious hand.
Letting them know that they're not alone,
That they don't have to face this world on their own.
Showing that there's Someone who can wipe away their tears,
And take away all of their fears.
Who will speak up for them?
My heart is breaking for them.
I realize they are alone and weak,
As an expression of feeling finds it's way down my cheek.
I will go if no one else,
And show them the love they've never felt.
