I know I haven't been on here in a while, but I'm gonna try to start blogging fairly often again. This poem was written by my good friend Megan. It kind of inspired me to throw things out here again because I wanted everyone to see it. I think it's an awesome poem.
Where I Found God
By: Megan Doherty
Tear covered faces looking up at nothing
Too ashamed to call their lives their own
Yet knowing no other way, they fall deeper.
City streets crowded with empty bodies
Nothing more than placeholders passing time
However, there is one that is unlike the rest.
In these things, I saw God.
Those that hate, judge, and look down upon
Those tear covered faces looking up at nothing
Defile the word that they cling to so desperately
Small, rural roads filled with families of old
Where generations come and go; all the same
Not willing to hear other people's lives
In these things, I missed God.
A small child with nothing to hide
Blessed by angels, yet hated by his own
Still struggling for his voice to be heard.
In him, I realized, was God.
